JUBILEE YOUTH GAMES
BOCCIA TOURNAMENT 21ST JUNE 2002
The Boccia Tournament was held at Charnwood Leisure Centre in Loughborough on 21st June. There were two age group categories and teams there representing five Local Authority areas. As for the accounting essay help, you can reuqest it from our editors at the main page.
The Competition Manager, Jason Prescott, said "This competition is the result of a lot of hard work. Boccia Coaches have delivered coaching in many schools across the City and County, and the standard of play has been extremely high. We have had over 70 players taking part supported by a very dedicated team of school teachers."
After hours of intense competition, teams from North West Leicestershire and Leicester City in the year 5/6 and Melton in the year 7 category triumphed.
JUBILEE YOUTH GAMES 23RD JUNE 2002
Over 1,100 young players aged 10 to 15 years old descended upon Loughborough University to take part in the 4th annual Youth Games. Our hosts Loughborough University, had done a fantastic job in preparing the playing areas in Britains premier multi-sport venue, whilst the badminton players enjoyed the fantastic facilities at Charnwood Leisure Centre.
We were blessed with a lovely sunny day as the colourful teams (each Local Authority area wore the same colour T-shirt) took to their respective sporting stages.
As always the standard of competition was extremely high and very intense. However, the competition was played in a good spirit with all the players, spectators and team managers observing the Jubilee Youth Games Fair Play Code.
Over 3,000 spectators joined the players at the Closing Ceremony and heard a rousing speech from Billy Mims, the Leicester Riders Basketball Coach.
Billy said that he was happy to be associated with the Games and that everyone involved should be proud of what they had achieved. He reserved a special thanks to the taxi drivers (parents) without whom our young players would have difficulty in attending coaching and competitions.
