Volunteer Investment Programme (VIP)

As the awareness and profile of volunteering are raised, it is important for us to ensure that sports volunteers are at the heart of all potential benefits and recognition. Therefore, through VIP, Sport England has established a number of key strategic relationships. We are establishing stronger links between sport and traditional voluntary organisations and initiatives. For example, we are working with the National Centre for Volunteering, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, the Active Community Unit, TimeBank, and many more.

 

 

VIP is designed to support you in the development and implementation of a volunteer management plan. It is a free membership programme targeted at volunteer co-ordinators within clubs, governing bodies, university sports associations and local authorities.

 

VIP support is delivered in the following ways:

 

·        an initial Welcome Pack

·        the opportunity to obtain training and learn new skills

·        the opportunity to attend free seminars and find out more about what is happening in
         sport · a quarterly mailing (fact sheets, hot topics, updates)

·        the opportunity to receive up to £5,000 and public recognition for good practice in
         volunteer management

·        access to special promotional material and discounted publications
